Thailand is a land of Buddhism. Temples are located everywhere, all over the country. Temples are favorite attractions, both for tourists and photographers. Tourists come from all over the world and might not know how to properly behave in this important place of worship.
Monks live in temples. It is here that they learn Tripitaka. They have two-hundred-and-ninety-seven rules to follow. A monk who commits the gravest transgression of the rules loses monk status.
The temple is where all Buddhists go to make merit and pray for themselves and their family. The temple is a holy place. Thai people love to see all the tourist visiting temples, as long as they behave in an appropriate way. Some tourist might make mistakes by accident because they don’t know the do’s and don’ts of visiting a temple. It is important for tourists to follow a few guidelines when they come to Thailand and go to see the incredible architecture of Thai temples.

Thailand is a land of smiles. We welcome all people who want to learn our culture and also visit our country. We also greatly appreciate it when tourists show respect when visiting our sacred temples.
